Protect your base in this sci-fi strategy game
ARMED! is a turn-based science fiction strategy game for Windows 8's touch interface.
The premise of ARMED! is simple. Build up defenses around your base and destroy your opponent's. There is a detailed tutorial where it will take you through a full round of the game, explaining every aspect of the game from resource management to attach strategy.
The graphics are mediocre and performance was a bit laggy. Since this is still a preview, there is still plenty of time for the developers of ARMED! to polish it. Controls for ARMED! work well with touch and mouse, though touch is definitely the preferred method of control.
Gameplay of ARMED! is also fun but can get tedious if you prefer real time strategy (RTS) games. You will find yourself waiting to play short rounds. You will spend a majority of your time prepping moves for your next round. ARMED! should really have longer rounds so you're not spending more time preparing than witnessing the action.
Overall, ARMED! is a perfectly mediorce strategy game for Windows 8.
